Whatever you dream of you can achieve
When starting your business you should truly understand that the difference between fantasy and reality is disappointment. Many businesses fail because the owners fantasize about their business and started it without a good plan. The adage is true; if you do not plan then you plan to fail. Without goals, without a plan, a dream remains just that a dream. Knowing what you want and how to get there helps transform your dream into reality.
1. Believe it will happen. If you are not totally convinced of this business idea you will not be able to convince others.
2. Visualize what will happen, how it will happen and when it will happen. Use a ‘pictomap’, a poster with pictures of what you want to achieve to help you with your visualization. They say a picture is worth a thousand words so pictures help make it even more real than just words.
3. Outline your business idea. A simple outline of your goals and how to achieve these goals is the first step to doing a business plan. Here are things to consider as you prepare your business plan outline. What is your product or service? What will your market position be? That will determine who you will target, the price you will charge and your overall marketing strategy. An example of a market position is “high priced tailored services”. How will you inform your customers of your product/service offering? How will your customers get your products/services? Sandy,
I really like this post. It covers essential do's and don'ts to starting up a business; ones that people generally don't think about when they get an exciting business idea and runs with it. You rock girl. Kudos to you once again.
